There are additional general grounds for
refusing related to some types of overstay in the UK (that is staying in the UK
beyond the end of your immigration permission); health issues; and for not
attending an interview if you are asked to do so. The application forms
therefore include some questions about general matters not specifically related
to your proposed studies, including questions about breaches of
conditions. This means doing something that your immigration permission
does not permit you to do, for example working more hours than allowed.
Once rejected you, need to re-apply paying the full visa fees again. Applicants do get a chance to appeal the decision with additional information or proofs, within 28 days of receiving the refusal.
